Financial Aid Advisors Know Their Stuff
Getting a college degree is a worth while goal. That is why so many colleges and universities will offer the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) loans. If you or another family member is planning to attend a university, technical college, or any specialized training program, your financial aid office and financial aid advisor can help you with the funding you need to pursue your dreams.
Most any college, university, or trade school will have a financial aid office with counselors on staff to help you with all the financial aid needs. Simply go into the office and make an appointment to speak with a financial aid advisor. What they can do for you will be truly a times saver for you. Besides saving time and research they will save you much head aches because they already know the ins and outs of the college student loan games. Let the professionals help you.
The first thing a financial aid advisor will do for you is help you file the free online FASFA application. The application is required in order to obtain any of the Federal Family Education Loans Available. There is the Stafford college student loan, subsidized or unsubsidized, the Perkins College Student Loan, The Plus Loan for parents, The Direct College Student Loan, (if your school offers this). There are so many college student loan programs backed by the government, I simply can not name them all. Knowing you financial aid advisor knows what they are is all you need to know right now.
After your FASFA application has been submitted and processed your financial aid advisor will know exactly which loans and grants you have qualified for. At this point they will know if you have been able to finance enough or if you need to finance more. The chances of most of your financial fees being taking care of are great. Remember you are not applying for one loan but as many as you can get from the federal financial aid program. I personally qualified for one unsubsidized Stafford college student loan, one subsidized college student loan and a grant. I do not have to pay the grant back and the subsidized college student loan I will not have to pay the interest. The government subsidizes it and will pay the interest for me. Those are some pretty sweet deals and my schooling was paid for in full.
I do realize not every one will get all the funds they need through the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) Loan; however the chances of you getting the major portion of what you need is very good. So go see your financial aid advisor and see what they can do for you. You are only making things easier on you by talking to some one that really does know there way around all the college student loan programs. Go so the trained professionals and let them do what they do best. You will be so please you gave them a chance.
